The two ranges on offer consist of the traditional trailed range (Models 800 to 2000 Litres) that hitch directly onto the tractors drawbar, and then the unique ‘Link’ range (1000 Litre) with an articulated joint drawbar that mounts onto the tractor’s 3-Point linkage. The articulated joint allows the operational unit to steer within a very limited radius. (Follows the tractors tyre track through the turn thus making short work of entering and exiting the rows) To ensure long field service and ease of operation all the tanks are manufactured from polyethylene giving high impact and UV resistance, and the strong frames/chassis epoxy coated to resist corrosion and chemical aggression. The conventional trailed range consist of both the ‘Blitz’ and ‘Super’ models, with the only real difference between the two being that on the ‘Super’ range the fan rotates 12% faster (24% on the ‘Extra’ model, enquire) and on some models (Super 2p) an additional agitation pump is fitted. The concept of operation is the same as that of the 3 Point models where high air speeds of up to 600km/h atomize liquid into very fine spray with a volume mean diameter (VMD) of 80 – 250 micron. This allows for full calibration from 50 – 8000 liter per hectare (depending on the model) without changing nozzles and at pressures in the liquid system of less than 3bar. Naturally excellent coverage is attributed to the high air speed that penetrates easily into dense foliage, carrying the atomized liquid into the target area and depositing spray evenly over the top and bottom leaf surfaces. (This happens when the high speed jet exist the outlet and within a short distance quickly entraps the environmental air. This brings large amounts of air into motion to assist with the movement of the foliage for better catch efficiency.) Like the 3-Point models, a large variety of spray-heads is readily available to cater for the stringent demands of vegetable, vineyard, orchard and row crop spraying. Once again, the flexibility of the Cima is illustrated in the fact that there is literally no crop that cannot be sprayed effectively by selecting the appropriate spray head. This means that the same base unit can be adapted to have a multitude of applications.
