SDM Select fine seed drill
The SDM Select (Medium duty seed drill) ranging in size from 11 – 21 rows @ 17cm spacing is rated for tractors from 50 – 90kW and the exceptional load to weight ratio makes this a light compact machine with great cutting effect and easy adjustment / handling.
One of the key features in the design of the SDM Select (Like that of the SDM versatile) is that the double disc openers are split over two rows / gangs spaced at 120cm to ensure excellent residue flow through the seeder. This configuration makes it possible to have two sets of seed and fertilizer boxes where one set would supply the front disc gang and the other the rear. As optional equipment additional fine seed pasture boxes can be fitted inside the main seed and fertilizer boxes (Both front and rear) With this feature fitted it is possible for example to apply ryegrass with the main seed boxes, red clover with the front, and white clover with the rear fine seed pasture box all at different seeding rates. It can also be converted to plant large grains such as maize and soya beans.

The Kuhn SDM Versatile (Heavy duty seed drill) ranging in working widths from 17 to 29 rows @ 17cm row spacing is rated for tractors from 75 to128kW and will convincingly handle the tough planting conditions experienced in S.A. This can be attributed to the heavy strong construction, unique features and simplicity and ease in operation.
